The Key Purpose of the Role is to:

  • Manage and plan the workload of an autonomous field team which executes warrants in accordance with HMCTS instructions.
  • Manage the deployment of bailiffs and manage individual performance to achieve the most effective/efficient use of resources and effective disposal of business.
  • Ensure Governance and Assurance around the safe and secure receipt, accounting and transfer of both money and personal data.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, ensuring that its members are organised, and fully skilled to meet their work objectives, using Lean TIBs, SOPs and other continuous improvement tools.
  • Assist in the delivery of performance against targets.

Driving Requirements

Driving is an essential part of the job role and in order to apply you must:

  • Be fit to drive and have a valid EU or UK Driving licence.
  • Have access to, and be able and ready to use your own car for work purposes; we will not be able to progress you to appointment if you do not have a vehicle at the point of offer.
  • If you have a UK licence, after completion of your probation period, you have the option to take part in the Departments car leasing scheme.

For insurance purposes:

  • Drivers of lease vehicles, pool or hire cars must have a UK driving licence for over 12 months.
  • Drivers using their own car must have insurance for work related travel.
  • All work mileage is paid for in accordance with the allowances in place, as amended from time to time.

What Do We Need From You?

  • A driving licence.
  • A road worthy vehicle is essential for the role.

Location

This post is based at Leicester County Court, 90 Wellington Street, Leicester, LE1 6HG and will require travel across the Leicester Area on a regular basis. The post holder may also be occasionally required in the wider East Midlands region.

Operational Role

This is an operational role that is customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.

Part Time / Job Share

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job‑sharing working patterns, as they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. For this particular role a minimum of 30 hours per week would be considered to meet the needs of the business.

Lead Criterion

A sift based on the lead behaviour (Leadership) may be held if a large number of applications are received.

Additional Information

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements if business need allows. This is an informal, non‑contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone's circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

For nationally advertised role: all successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office nearest to their home postcode and on its respective pay scale. This will be at either a HQ building (subject to desk allocation), a Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or a Justice Satellite Office (JSO).
