We are looking for an Admin Officer to support Crown Court operations at the Chelmsford Court. The role involves managing criminal digital files, handling correspondence, and providing administrative support to court users, judiciary and management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage criminal digital files in preparation for hearings, including correspondence and general enquiries.
  • Handle enquiries from criminal justice agencies, solicitors, barristers and members of the public via post, email, telephone and face‑to‑face.
  • Deal with a full range of serious criminal work and manage juror processes.
  • Carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or provide support to other HMCTS functions.

  • Proactive and effective customer support via phone and email.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and multi‑task in a busy environment.

Working Arrangements

  • Full‑time work 37 hours per week, based in the Chelmsford office.
  • Hybrid working arrangements (minimum 60% office presence) subject to local capacity and business needs.
