We partner with some of the most innovative biotech, pharmaceutical, and life sciences companies globally through retained search, contingent recruitment, and scalable delivery solutions. This role offers the opportunity to build a long-term career specialising in the US life sciences market, one of the fastest-growing and highest-performing recruitment markets globally.
The Opportunity:
- As part of our US division, you’ll operate in a full 360 recruitment role focused on building and growing relationships across North America.
- You’ll be responsible for:
- Business development and winning new client partnerships
- Managing and expanding existing accounts
- Delivering retained and contingent search mandates
- Building long-term candidate networks across specialist verticals
- Managing full recruitment processes from initial briefing through to offer management and close
- Becoming a true market specialist within your space
Why Join Hlx?
The biggest differentiator is the platform you’ll be joining. This is not an environment where leadership has stepped away from delivery. The people leading the business are still actively billing, building accounts, winning clients, and working directly alongside the team every day. That means:
- Real-time mentorship
- Live market exposure
- Direct client interaction
- Learning from proven high performers
- Access to established global relationships and accounts
Several consultants within the business billed £1M+ last year, with multiple individuals already on track to exceed that again this year.
Why the US Market?
The US life sciences market offers significantly larger opportunities than traditional UK markets:
- Average fee sizes are typically double UK fees
- Faster-growing biotech ecosystem
- Higher-volume investment across life sciences and AI
- Access to some of the most innovative companies globally
At Hlx, we’ve spent years building relationships with high-growth biotech and pharmaceutical organisations across North America, meaning consultants gain direct access to active clients and warm accounts from day one. Alongside this there will also be opportunities to travel to the US for:
- Client meetings
- Industry conferences
- Relationship-building across key biotech hubs
The role will involve flexibility around US working hours where needed in order to maximise opportunities and build strong relationships across the market.
We’re looking for individuals who are:
- Highly ambitious and commercially driven
- Motivated by high performance and progression
- Relationship-focused and confident communicating at senior levels
- Sales-minded with strong business development ability
- Resilient, competitive, and motivated by success
- Interested in building a long-term career within a high-growth business
Previous recruitment experience is preferred, particularly within life sciences, healthcare, technology, or other specialist markets, although high-performing recruiters from other sectors will also be considered.
What We Offer
- International incentives and travel opportunities
- Quarterly lunch clubs and performance incentives
- Clear progression pathways within a rapidly scaling business
- Market-leading commission structure and earning potential
- Collaborative, high-performance culture with no internal politics
- Opportunity to work within a genuinely global life sciences business
