I'm supporting an innovative clinical-stage biotech looking to appoint an experienced Medical Director / Research Physician to provide medical and scientific leadership across its clinical development programmes.
This is a hands-on development role for a physician who has experience progressing novel therapeutics from preclinical development into first-in-human studies and through clinical proof of concept.
The successful individual will act as the medical lead for assigned studies, contributing to clinical development strategy, study design, protocol development, medical monitoring, safety oversight and regulatory interactions, while working closely with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Biometrics and Translational teams.
We're particularly interested in physicians with:
- MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
- 5+ years' biotech/pharma clinical development experience
- Strong early clinical development / FIH experience
- Experience designing and medically leading clinical studies
- Protocol and regulatory document development experience
- Strong understanding of clinical and safety data
- Experience taking assets through to clinical proof of concept
- Experience within a small/emerging biotech environment beneficial
This is an opportunity to take a highly visible role within a lean development organisation and have meaningful influence over both individual studies and broader development strategy.
