We are currently seeking a Design Technology Specialist to join our global BIM and Computational Design team, based in our London office. This is a hybrid role, working closely with project teams across regions to support BIM delivery, advance digital workflows, and contribute to the firm’s broader design technology strategy.
The Role
The Design Technology Specialist plays a hands-on role supporting project teams throughout the design and delivery process. You will help ensure consistent, effective use of BIM and related tools, support training and capability-building across the studio, and contribute to the evolution of firmwide standards and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- BIM Delivery & Project Support: Support project teams from early design through delivery to ensure effective and consistent use of BIM workflows.
- Standards & Governance: Maintain and help evolve BIM standards, protocols, and best practices in line with project needs and emerging technologies.
- Training & Technical Support: Provide day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting, and targeted training to improve team capability and confidence in design technology tools.
- Global Coordination: Work with design technology colleagues and leadership across offices to align on tools, workflows, and standards.
- Digital Content Development: Develop and maintain digital assets, including Revit families, templates, and details, to support efficient project delivery.
- Technology Evaluation & Adoption: Research emerging tools and workflows, assess their applicability, and support measured adoption where they add value.
- Collaboration & Resourcing: Partner with project managers, studio leadership, and other disciplines to support coordination, resourcing, and effective use of design technology on projects.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional Experience: Experience in architectural or design practice, or a related field with a focus on BIM coordination, management, or design technology support. Demonstrated experience setting up and supporting BIM workflows on complex projects.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Experience with model coordination, clash detection, and issue management workflows. Familiarity with Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or Dynamo. Working understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination.
- Communication & Collaboration: Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across teams and time zones.
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting change management and adoption of new tools within design teams.
- Scripting or programming experience (Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar).
- Exposure to real-time visualization, digital twins, or reality capture workflows.
- Experience delivering projects under Design & Build and/or Integrated Project Delivery models.
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and related BIM standards.
