Sometimes good people stop being developed and start being contained. It’s not usually through lack of potential or experience. It’s because there’s someone above you. Or maybe your current employer doesn’t have the ambition. Sometimes it’s because there are financial constraints to making you more senior. Or perhaps your employer just isn’t built to grow. They’re content. If you’re not content, working directly alongside the Head of Justice & Emergency Services might change that.
You’ll play a big part in growing and managing an already established sector as the most senior person in mainland UK. An already big job will become even bigger. You can work from anywhere, with a lot of flexibility about how and when you work. They have studios across the UK and Ireland; Sheffield, London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast, Plymouth and Dublin. So you can come and go from wherever you need - there’s always local support. Or you can work remotely, whatever works best for you.
This is a business with genuine momentum in a sector that’s driving it. The Senior team has the ambition and the resources to back you up. Business development, bidding, administration and operational support are all at your fingertips. HLM is more of a proper business than most practices - progression here doesn’t depend on waiting for someone to leave.
What else to expect:- Work flexibility
- Up to 31.5 days holiday (from day one)
- 4.5 day working week
- A significant annual bonus with the first few thousand tax free
- ARB/RIBA qualified, with 5+ years' post-qualification experience
- A real track record delivering blue light or MOJ projects
- The confidence to lead at client level and contribute to bids
- Sector credibility and delivery experience are what matter most
This is an example of an employee owned company working well. They’re stable, busy and recruiting, while lots of other practices are hanging around worrying about interest rates and elections.
