We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer with good knowledge and experience of health and safety in a corporate office environment to join a leading professional services business. The main purpose of the role will be responsibility for the effective and efficient compliance of the firm maintaining a safe working environment for its state of the art brand new corporate head office.
General responsibilities will include:
- Updating and revising aspects of company policies, procedures and legal obligations.
- Coordinating all H&S issues and coordination of in-house training.
- Identifying potential workplace hazards and developing strategies to reduce or eliminate risks.
- Conducting regular site visits to ensure safety procedures are being followed and equipment is maintained correctly.
- Drafting, implementing and regularly reviewing health and safety policies in line with current legislation.
- Leading investigations into accidents, near-misses and work-related illnesses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Designing and delivering safety inductions, toolbox talks and specialist training (e.g., manual handling or fire safety) to staff at all levels.
- Maintaining records of accidents and ensuring all required safety documentation is up to date for regulatory inspections.
