Grounds Maintenance Team Leader Location: Enfield, North London Salary: £35,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (Team members are required to arrive at the yard for 7:00am each day.) We are currently recruiting for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join a well-established grounds maintenance contractor based in Enfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to grounds maintenance, looking to join a professional and growing team. The role: As a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, you will lead a team of two operatives, carrying out grounds maintenance across a variety of sites, including:
- Commercial properties
- Residential flats
- Schools
- Large housing estates
You will be responsible for ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining excellent health and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a two-person grounds maintenance team.
- Driving the company vehicle between sites.
- Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, and pruning.
- Weed control and general horticultural maintenance.
- Ensuring work is completed efficiently and to specification.
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- A full UK driving licence (essential).
- PA1 and PA6 certificates are desirable but not essential.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A reliable and proactive approach to work.
- The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
