We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Landscaper to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and extensive landscape construction experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of landscapers and labourers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within specification and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and client representatives to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Plan daily workloads and organise resources efficiently.
  • Carry out and oversee:
    • Paving installation
    • Kerb and edging installation
    • Timber works, including fencing and sleeper walls
    • Drainage installation
    • Tree and shrub planting
    • Turfing and seeding
    • Topsoil preparation and grading
    • Setting out works from technical drawings
    • Operation of small plant, tools and construction equipment
    • Plant care and establishment
  • Train and mentor junior operatives.
  • Carry out quality inspections and complete site documentation.
  • Manage materials, equipment and site resources.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and site representatives.
  • Undertake vehicle and equipment checks.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed by all operatives.
  • Assist Project Managers with project programming and construction methodology.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Implement and follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Carry out plant and equipment inspections.
  • Assist with incident reporting where required.
  • Ensure environmental controls and best practices are followed on site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in landscape construction.
  • Strong knowledge of both hard and soft landscaping techniques.
  • Valid CSCS/LISS Skilled Worker Card with NVQ Level 3 in Landscape Construction (or equivalent).
  • Ability to supervise teams safely and efficiently.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Training & Qualifications

  • Gold CSCS Supervisor Card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • CPCS or NPORS qualifications (Forward Tipping Dumper and Excavators under 10 tonnes).
  • CAT & Genny training.
  • Additional landscaping or construction industry qualifications.
