Join our dynamic engineering design team, where you will be responsible for turning written briefs into real in-store solutions by creating detailed manufacturing models and technical drawings. This role involves collaborating with internal teams to ensure designs meet specifications and can be efficiently produced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking approved visuals/briefs, design solutions on 3D CAD, and generate prototype and manufacturing drawings.
  • Developing functional, aesthetically relevant, and manufacturable displays within budget and time constraints.
  • Liaise closely with Account Managers and/or Project Managers to develop customer-focussed solutions.
  • Work closely with the conceptual designers to faithfully realise the chosen design, and with colleagues in the Estimating Department to ensure we achieve budgetary constraints.
  • Work closely with Prototype Department to review prototypes and adjust where needed, so that the production units perform satisfactorily.
  • Liaise with the factory departments during production to verify construction, specifications and quality.
  • Ensure all required project documentation adheres to company defined processes e.g. detailed 2D Part and Assembly Drawings, Bills of Materials, QC guidelines, Technical Specification Sheets and Assembly Diagrams.
  • Communicate project status regularly and effectively with Line Manager.

Who are you?

  • Ability to find solutions to design challenges, with a positive approach to lateral thinking, providing innovative solutions to design challenges.
  • Good knowledge of 3D CAD.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ready to move to the next level.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Good communicator, able to present ideas with clarity and confidence.
  • Self-motivated – needs limited supervision to stay productive.
  • Ability to work well both within a team and independently as required.
  • Willing to get involved in all areas of the business.
