We're looking for a proactive and driven Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Harlow, Essex.

In this varied role, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end processes, assisting with statutory reporting and audits, and contributing to a range of finance projects.

You'll work closely with the Financial Controller and wider business, gaining valuable exposure across multiple areas while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is AAT Level 4 qualified and either about to begin or already studying towards ACCA or CIMA, with solid accounting experience and a genuine desire to learn, grow, and make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned tasks during month-end and year-end close processes
  • Monthly reporting and accompanying BS reconciliations
  • Support the annual budget process
  • Assist in the statutory Audits
  • Assist Financial Controller in the preparation of Statutory Accounts and Tax Packs computations
  • Support the finance leadership on accounting and customer projects as they arise
  • VAT Returns
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset register
  • ONS submissions
  • Lease administration
  • Other adhoc tasks

So, who are you?

  • Driven and curious person wanting to learn and develop their skills and experience
  • Proven work experience as a Financial / Management Accountant or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of accounting rules and regulations as well as in-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
  • Strong MS Excel skills, as well as confident user of Outlook and Word
  • Experience with MS query preferable
  • Power BI experience preferable
  • Exposure to ERP system with integrated stock ledger
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Time-management abilities

  • AAT Level 4 qualified and about to start or actively studying for ACCA/CIMA
  • Commuting distance to Harlow, Essex as this is an office based role.
