About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Factory Project Manager to lead and coordinate key operational functions within the factory, including Customer Service, Production Planning, ERP Coordination, and Artwork workstreams. The Harlow site is a highly vertically integrated manufacturing facility encompassing a broad range of production capabilities, including metal fabrication, injection moulding, CNC machining, digital printing, and assembly operations, enabling the delivery of complex bespoke solutions tailored to customer requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate customer projects from order receipt through to shipment, ensuring all technical, logistical, and production requirements are accurately prepared and communicated. This includes specification review, ERP preparation, production planning, artwork coordination, delivery schedules, first-off approvals, production kick-off, and close monitoring of execution to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full. Working cross-functionally with Commercial, Engineering, Estimating, Production, and Despatch teams, the Manufacturing Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring efficient operational flow, effective project execution, and excellent customer responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a multifunctional team across Customer Service, Production Planning, ERP Coordination, and Artwork.
  • Coordinate customer projects from order receipt through to final shipment.
  • Compile and manage job specifications, delivery schedules, and special customer requests.
  • Ensure accurate ERP item preparation, Manufacturing Order creation, and production planning.
  • Support review and approval of first-off samples and production kick-off activities.
  • Monitor project execution to ensure quality, timing, and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • Drive continuous improvement across customer service, ERP, planning, and operational processes.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in project management, production planning, or operational leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, ERP systems, and customer order management.
  • Strong organisational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to analyse operational information and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and cross-functional activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused, proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.

Desirable

  • Strong IT and systems skills, including the ability to work with ERP queries and knowledge of SQL or similar database/reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel and data reporting skills with the ability to analyse and interpret operational information.
  • Experience working with one or more of the manufacturing processes utilised within our facility.
  • Engagement in Lean, continuous improvement, or operational efficiency initiatives.
