Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 534434) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal).
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline, with strong written and spoken skills in English and Chinese (including Putonghua). They should be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Attention to detail and a strong safety mindset are essential. Prior experience working in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
The appointee will assist in the daily operation and maintenance of the cleanroom facilities in the Department at the HKU and at the other research centres led by HKU. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring proper implementation of laboratory safety regulations
- Assisting in the delivery of training to laboratory users
- Supporting the procurement, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Performing manual handling tasks, such as replacing gas cylinders and waste bottles
- Coordinating with the safety office on chemical handling, storage, and disposal
- Performing any other duties as assigned
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
