Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant II at the Social Sciences Research Centre (SSRC) within the Faculty of Social Sciences, to commence as soon as possible. The appointment is on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external partners, including NGOs, to facilitate project activities, provide field work support on data collection and data quality checking, including logistics arrangement of the project(s).
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research projects.
  • Preparation of presentations, reports, summaries of research findings.
  • Perform administrative tasks and support the centre of workshops, seminars, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Social Work, Psychology and Public Health or equivalent.
  • Social worker background, native in Cantonese with some understanding of social services in Hong Kong is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in working with NGOs or in the non-profit sector.
  • Experience in conducting survey and qualitative data collection is an advantage.
  • Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, excellent command of written and spoken Cantonese and English.
  • Responsible, self-motivated and mature, able to work independently and multi-task, work under tight schedule as well as in a team, ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
