The University of Hong Kong invites applications for appointment as Tenure‑Track Clinical Associate Professor/ Clinical Assistant Professor (several posts) in Dermatology, School of Clinical Medicine. The position commences as soon as possible on a four‑year fixed‑term basis with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second contract.
Applicants must possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and have achieved the status of Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent. They should demonstrate strong clinical acumen and skills in dermatology, with proven experience teaching medical students, interns and trainees. A higher academic qualification (e.g. MD, MS, PhD) is advantageous.
Applicants should have a proven capacity to initiate and contribute to basic, clinical and/or translational research. Appointees will play a strategic role in growing the clinical services, focus on the education of medical students, postgraduate teaching and supervision, and academic research. They may be assigned duties at hospital(s) and clinics affiliated with HKU Health System.
Those with fewer qualifications and experience may be considered for appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor. Opportunities for academic growth, career development and mentorship will be provided, with protected time for educational and clinical research activities.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, along with annual leave, medical benefits and a retirement benefits scheme totaling up to 15% of basic salary. A start‑up package and a monthly cash allowance commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will also be provided. Housing benefits will be offered as applicable.
