Job Description
HKA Enterprises is unable to support C2C or third-party submissions for any positions. We are working on behalf of Jacobs to support their projects.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ AutoCAD experience, preferably Revit
- Systems design experience with Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, Voice Evacuation, Gas Detection, VESDA, Access Control, CCTV
- NICET Level III certification
- Ideally, 5-10 years of systems design experience
- Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA-13
- Knowledge of Fire/Life Safety systems and manufacturer’s equipment
- Industrial design experience
- NICET Level IV certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
Responsibilities
We are looking for an On-Site Life Safety Systems Designer to work in Santa Clara, CA, on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, and research facilities. Responsibilities include:
- Representing the firm to clients and construction staff
- Providing design verification of contractor’s scope
- Attending progress meetings and coordinating onsite documentation
- Designing Fire Alarm Detection, Gas Management, and Security Systems using AutoCAD and Revit
- Performing calculations, applying NFPA and ICC codes, and specifying equipment
