Our client is an FTSE 350 Accountancy firm with global operations. This is an exciting role for a technology enthusiast, interested in learning and writing about innovative technologies being developed in the UK. It is also an opportunity to learn about the UK Research & Development (R&D) tax legislation, and how this legislation is applied and rewards the companies that carry out the R&D. The role is ideal for a Computer Scientist or other engineering university graduate who is interested in gaining a broad knowledge of current R&D areas. It will involve collaboration with a large team of legislation and technology experts.
Typical activities to be performed include:
- Join technology interviews and write detailed notes
- Write initial drafts summarising the technology interviews
- Research to help summarise the technology terms discussed
- Write documents that summarise the R&D analysis process
- Work with tools [e.g. Power Point] to prepare presentations
- Preparation of emails to send to engineers being interviewed
- On-the-job training to learn and summarise areas of technology
- Optional: Work with tools [e.g. Excel or Alteryx] to help quantify R&D
Requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Computer science or other engineering-related university degrees or masters
- Strong technical documentation writing skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google office suite
- Optional: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (or Alteryx) tools
