H&J Martin Facilities Management (part of the Lagan Specialist Contracting Group) is now recruiting a HVAC Supervisor.

Location: Rosemount House, Belfast

Role Overview

As part of the continued development of our Self Delivery capability we are seeking to recruit a Supervisor with an HVAC Services trade bias into this influential and responsible role. The successful applicant will report to the HVAC Technical Manager. They will work alongside other supervisors from different trades, giving and receiving support from each other. The role has line management of our team of HVAC engineers. The successful applicant will liaise with our clients, and work with our supply chain and our engineers to deliver a safe, efficient, and compliant service package.

What you'll do

  • Organise reactive, remedial, planned maintenance and minor works / installation activities within the HVAC discipline scope.
  • Daily oversight of the HVAC Team of engineers.
  • Assist the development of the HVAC teams demonstratable competence of both the business unit and its team members.
  • Assist to develop the HVAC / product portfolio.
  • Carry out site surveys, assisting with the development of cost plans, designs and specifications when required.
  • Provide technical support and commissioning assistance to the engineering team as and when required.
  • Represent the company in a competent and professional manner.
  • Continually develop your own management skillset, mentoring abilities, contractual and commercial understanding as well as your technical competence.
  • Communication & dissemination of information to internal and external stakeholders; Providing content for company social media portals as required.

What you'll bring

As a HVAC Supervisor your main skills and experience will include:

Essential Criteria
  • Demonstrating significant experience working within a relevant industry.
  • HNC Level and / or NVQ Level 3 industry qualification as a minimum.
  • Possess technical knowledge on a wide variety of HVAC systems.
  • Possess good knowledge of safe working requirements, practices, and methods.
  • Have a methodical approach to problem analysing, solution finding and task planning.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic workload.
  • Be an effective communicator to technical staff and supply chain.
  • Have strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
  • Have experience supervision/management of staff and tasks or with a strong desire to learn and develop such skills.
  • Have experience using CAFM and mobile working platforms.
  • Knowledge of Air Conditioning Energy Assessment (TM44) OFTEC and Gas Safe registration/qualifications.
  • Have good knowledge of sourcing parts and components.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings and literature.
  • Have other relevant mechanical and electrical qualifications.
