The Role:
- You will be writing, editing, and modifying complex programs for multi-axis CNC turning machines (typically using controls like Fanuc or Mazak).
- You will be loading materials, selecting tooling, setting offsets, and proving out new programs to ensure components are manufactured safely and to exact specifications.
- You will be interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical route cards.
- You will be using precision measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, and CMMs) to perform first-off, in-process, and final part inspections.
Desirable Experience:
- Proven track record in programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes.
- Strong capability with industry-standard controls (Fanuc is standard; familiarity with CAD/CAM software like SolidCAM or AlphaCAM is highly advantageous).
- Experience working with a variety of metals and exotic alloys.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and strict aerospace or high-precision industry standards.
