As the Head of Fleet, you will be the architect and guardian of our fleet. You will be responsible for leading and scaling our fleet operations across multiple decentralised locations, ensuring that our 100% electric fleet is the most efficient, safe, and compliant in the industry. This is a high-leverage leadership role where you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of our assets—from multi-million pound procurement strategies to the daily grit of workshop operations. You will sit at the intersection of Operations, Finance, and Tech, ensuring our fleet is not just operational, but optimised for Total Cost of Ownership and ready for rapid expansion.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead Fleet Strategy & Procurement: Define and execute the long-term roadmap for our fleet. Lead the exploration of new vehicle types and negotiate high-value procurement deals that align with HIVED’s sustainability and growth goals. Lead our thinking on remarketing strategy, optimum holding periods, and financing arrangements.
- Own Repair & Maintenance: Oversee our internal workshop operations and manage external garage partnerships. Ensure the balance between internal speed and external expertise to minimise vehicle off-road time.
- Command a Decentralised Team: Provide strong, inspirational leadership to fleet teams across multiple London depots. Ensure high standards of performance and safety are maintained consistently, even when not on-site.
- Manage the Admin Function: Take full ownership of the fleet admin function, including insurance claim processing and the end-to-end management of PCNs, turning high-volume tasks into streamlined, efficient processes.
- Drive Fleet Compliance & Safety: Ensure HIVED remains the gold standard for safety. Maintain a fully compliant fleet, adhering to all regulatory requirements and licence undertakings.
- Optimise Total Cost of Ownership: Use data-led insights to analyse fleet performance. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality or safety. Own vehicle unit economics and TCO, report key metrics to the executive team.
