Marsha de Cordova, Member of Parliament for Battersea, is looking for an experienced Caseworker to join her busy constituency team. Caseworkers play an important role in supporting constituents with a wide range of issues. You will help ensure that people who contact the office feel listened to, supported, and informed. Previous experience of constituency casework or working in an MP's office is preferred, though not essential. What matters most is that you are organised, empathetic, a strong communicator, and able to manage a varied and sometimes demanding caseload with professionalism and care.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing a high volume of casework, including complex and sensitive cases, across housing, immigration, social security and other areas
- Responding to constituents by phone, email, social media and in person, including at surgeries
- Logging cases, tracking progress and making sure agreed actions are followed through
- Drafting clear, professional responses on behalf of the MP
- Liaising with government departments, local authorities, the council and voluntary organisations to progress and resolve cases
- Maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with data protection requirements
- Attending constituency meetings and supporting general office administration
- Occasionally working outside normal hours or travelling for work
About you:
- Strong written and verbal communication, and a professional telephone manner
- The ability to plan, organise and prioritise a varied workload independently
- Experience in a public-facing or casework role
- Empathy and discretion when working with people in difficult circumstances
- The ability to work both on your own initiative and as part of a small team
It would be an advantage if you have:
- Previous experience of casework in a parliamentary or advice setting
- Working knowledge of housing, immigration or social security
- Familiarity with the issues affecting constituents in Battersea and the wider borough

Security vetting: Upon appointment, you will be required to apply for security clearance through the Security Vetting and Pass Office.
