We are a small charitable organisation that seeks to provoke participatory democracy via disruptive visual art. We’re looking for Documentary practitioners based in Scotland to help produce and shoot a feature documentary.
What difference will you make? Your work will directly help us fund and deliver bold civic art interventions and national democratic processes that aim to influence real policy change. We intend to have a broad audience and high exposure. If successful, your film would influence national debates and conversations around political issues.
What’s in it for you? Personally working with our Founder, who is an RSA & BFI fellow, and British Council alumnus. Our Founder has 20 years film producing experience as well as being a film lecturer and will collaborate with you in the production of these documentaries. Have the opportunity to produce documentaries that demonstrate your professionalism and passion, whilst accessing a broader audience. Gain experience with a variety of filmography equipment and be acquainted with the entire process of creating a film. Meet friendly, constructive & like-minded individuals in our team, who are passionate about making a real impact and change! As part of our team, where appropriate, you will be invited to events to connect and further develop professional relationships, expanding your network.
What are we looking for? Someone who is interested in and passionate in developing their documentary production skills. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has already has some professional experience in operating film cameras and lighting equipment.
Hybrid
What will you be doing? You will be supporting our Founder in producing an ongoing documentary based on HMS’ mission and journey to bring a bill through parliament. Provide assistance in operating & moving cameras, lighting or other recording equipment as is necessary. Support our Founder in identifying locations for filming, props, and identifying any suitable actors for the film.
Training & Guidance: You will be given personal, tailored training, direction and leadership by our Founder, a RSA & BFI fellow, and British Council alumnus, with 20 years experience in the film industry. Our Founder will be your main point of contact.
