We have a range of projects from Tech4Good to Greenfield projects, right through to £2million+ a year client projects. We recognise that sometimes managing multiple smaller projects can be more challenging than the larger projects and that you’ll need some time to settle in and understand our ways of working. We expect you to be working towards, if not already, at a senior delivery manager position which means that you will facilitate the successful delivery of multiple projects. We would like you to have experience in Agile methodologies but with an understanding of Waterfall and be able to recognise the right methods given an agency model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To act as client liaison for projects and the first point of contact for the client.
  • To facilitate the successful delivery of multiple projects of all sizes from multiple small ones to large and complex projects to meet the client’s needs.
  • To plan, coordinate, and execute projects while ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with product owners requirements.
  • To collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project documentation, and help drive efficiency in project workflows.
  • To oversee the delivery of projects' full life cycle, including facilitating estimations for new business opportunities and handover into support.
  • To lead and facilitate conflict resolution within teams or with clients.
  • To support the organisations Social and Environmental Goals and to uphold and demonstrate our values.
  • Provide collaborative input into reviews (show and tells) to ensure transparency and to maximise learning for the wider team from all projects during and after the project.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Analyse and manage the financial performance of projects and utilisation of team members.
  • Providing regular financial updates, monitoring spending in relation to the budget.
  • Input into and maintain project forecasting and timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, delivery management standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities we would like you to be working towards (if not yet operating at):

  • Leading team process improvements and implementation.
  • Maintaining and sharing knowledge on current best practices in the related field.
  • Mentoring of other team members.
  • Identifying new business opportunities with existing clients.

Essential Skills or Experience:

  • Experience with Agile project management tools and methodologies.
  • Practical experience in managing projects with financial and overall delivery responsibility.
  • Good understanding of IT services, software development lifecycles and User Experience techniques.
  • Strong documentation and process management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the Google suite (i.e. Google Docs/Sheets etc).
  • Excellent facilitation skills of people in group workshops and/or meetings.
  • Good interpersonal communication and listening skills.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.

Desirable Skills or Experience:

  • Experience with Waterfall project management tools and methodologies.
  • Mentorship of team members.
  • Ability to identify process improvements within team and organisation.

Our Recruitment Process: Hive IT is a mindful employer and is dedicated to becoming fairer and more inclusive. We’re beginning to look at how this can be achieved through numerous activities, but as a starting point, we are moving to a blind CV recruitment process. What does this mean? Simply put, the team in charge of making the decision on who to interview won’t receive any personal details as part of your application, only the skills and experience you submit. We believe that this will help remove any unconscious bias and lead to a fairer hiring process. Rather than submit a CV, we ask you to complete an application form asking for specific evidence relating to the Essential and Desirable key skills for the role. Use of AI in completing that application form is monitored for. We appreciate that you may want to use AI to improve your sentence structure/formulate your point more concisely - but we will reject applications where AI has been used to answer whole questions or give false examples. Any examples or evidence that you do provide will be questioned further during interviews.
