HW Finance is partnering with a leading organisation in Leeds who are looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Manager to join their established HR & Finance function. This is a key role within a lean, high-performing team, and will suit someone who has operated at manager level while remaining hands-on with payroll processing.
The Role
You will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate, timely delivery across a multi-entity environment. The organisation is continuing to enhance and streamline its systems, so strong Workday payroll capability is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process end-to-end payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Act as the Workday payroll subject matter expert across the business
- Lead on payroll troubleshooting, configuration, and process improvements
- Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and systems teams
- Oversee payroll controls, reconciliations, and reporting
- Support audit requirements and legislative compliance
- Drive continuous improvement across payroll operations
About You
- Proven experience operating at Payroll Manager level
- MUST have hands-on Workday payroll experience (not just end-user)
- Strong technical payroll knowledge (HMRC, statutory payments, pensions, etc.)
- Comfortable working in a lean team with a hands-on approach
- Excellent accuracy, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communicator able to partner cross-functionally
