A leading international organisation with a strong presence in Leeds is seeking a newly qualified accountant to join its finance team based in Leeds due to some recent internal promotions. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) professional looking to move into a commercially focused finance role within a large, fast paced business. The role would particularly suit newly qualified candidates currently working in external audit within an accountancy practice, or those with financial accounting experience gained in a larger corporate environment.

The Opportunity

Working within a high performing finance function, you will support the production of divisional management accounts, commercial project reviews and financial reporting activities across a significant UK business unit. This is a varied role offering strong exposure to senior stakeholders, commercial finance activities, process improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Support quarterly project and WIP reviews
  • Monitoring and analysis of unbilled project balances
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Financial reporting and ad hoc analysis
  • Supporting year-end statutory audit activities
  • Assisting with internal controls and SOx compliance processes
  • Supporting continuous improvement, automation and process efficiencies
  • Potential coaching or support of junior team members

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or recently / soon to be qualified)
  • Background in external audit within practice and/or financial accounting in a larger business
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in improving processes and adding value
