HW Finance are delighted to be partnering with a large multi-national organisation to help appoint a new Head of Financial Reporting. My client is looking for a technically strong finance leader to take ownership of external financial reporting and the financial control environment. This is a high-profile role responsible for ensuring the integrity of published financial information and maintaining a robust control framework across a multi-entity structure. You’ll lead a capable team of qualified and part-qualified accountants and work closely with senior leadership and external advisors to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and governance.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the preparation and delivery of annual published financial statements across the organisation.
  • Ensure full compliance with technical accounting requirements, working across multiple reporting frameworks (including IFRS and UK GAAP variants).
  • Oversee periodic financial reporting requirements for key external stakeholders.
  • Lead the end-to-end year-end audit process, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring an efficient, well-managed audit cycle.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure high-quality inputs, robust review processes, and strong financial governance.
  • Drive, challenge, and continuously strengthen the internal financial control framework.
  • Lead monthly balance sheet governance and compliance reviews, ensuring results are accurate, consistent, and well-controlled.
  • Identify and deliver improvements across processes, controls, and ways of working.
  • Build a high-performance culture with clear ownership, strong capability development, and consistent delivery against deadlines.

Key Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong track record in technical accounting, statutory reporting and external audit leadership.
  • Confident operating within a complex multi-entity environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven experience strengthening financial controls, governance processes and compliance standards.
  • A credible, collaborative leader who can influence stakeholders and develop a high-performing team.
