An opportunity to join a highly respected FMCG brand in Yorkshire as their new Commercial Finance Manager.
The Commercial Finance Manager will play a critical role in driving the financial performance of the business. This position is responsible for providing financial insights and analysis in order to support strategic decision making and managing the commercial budgeting and forecasting processes.
About the role:
Working closely with the Finance Director to:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and business growth
- Lead and develop a team of two commercial management accountants, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Multi-skill with other areas of the finance team to ensure we have cover for all roles
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Prepare and present detailed financial analysis, reports and forecasts to the Leadership Team
- Support and challenge the sales teams to drive strong financial performance, maximising margins
- Lead the annual budgeting process for sales and marketing, working closely with the Commercial Director and Sales and Marketing teams
- Monitor commercial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
Skills, Knowledge & experience
- Qualifications: Recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience: Proven experience in a commercial finance role, with a track record of driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision making. Food manufacturing / FMCG experience would be desirable
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to present effectively and influence non-finance colleagues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on developing and motivating team members. Highly numerate and literate. High level of attention to detail. Excellent Excel and IT skills.
