Here at Hitachi Rail, we are currently seeking a committed Refuelling Team Leader to join our permanent night shift operation at our Stoke Gifford Train Maintenance Centre in Bristol.
Salary: £43,696 + 15% Shift allowance + £3,000 Location Allowance
Accountabilities:
- This is a critical leadership role within our night-time depot operations, responsible for overseeing and delivering the safe, efficient servicing of Hitachi rolling stock assets.
- You will lead the servicing team to ensure trains are prepared, compliant, and available for service in line with operational and contractual requirements.
- Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Undertake servicing/replenishment of train arriving from service, including but not limited to:
- Replenishment of Diesel
- Replenishment of Ad-Blu
- Toilet system servicing
- Replenishment of fresh water for the toilet and galley systems
- Replenishment of the drivers windscreen wash
- Replenishment of sand hoppers fitted to the train
- Support the maintenance staff as required with corrective and preventative maintenance, complex fault finding and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets.
- Monitor the Maintenance Management System (SAP) to ensure all work is being recorded correctly.
- Capture and record all servicing undertaken and materials used in the required I.T. system provided.
- Reporting of any defects found, notifying the Servicing Team Leader and recording this in the required I.T. system provided.
- Support the continued development of the SAP maintenance management system (MMS).
- Ensure all servicing requirements are captured and delivered.
- Ensure all material usage is controlled and recorded and any materials being returned to the stores for repair are correctly labelled and process is followed.
- Comply with the lean principles and best practice as instructed at North Pole and other out stabled locations as necessary.
- Support the maintenance staff and cleaners to ensure the contractual agreed number of trains are made available for service.
- Health & safety – Follow the correct working practices at all times. All relative PPE equipment is being used. Ensure road ways/pits are kept clean after work.
- Liaise with Hitachi and external personnel as required to complete the duties of the post.
About you:
Essential:
- Licences / Competences
- Intermediate IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and drawings
- Train driving, Fire warden, and First Aider competencies
- Qualifications: Mechanical & Electrical ONC, or a served apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical disciplines or equivalent proven railway experience
- Engineering NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
