Job Description
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encouraging and leading the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
- Ensure that all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into commissioning in consultation with site management, HSE and Commissioning team and that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
- Ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSEQ requirements, and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
- Is responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
- Ensures that commissioning activities within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time and budget requirements
- Leads the commissioning within area of responsibility for HZI and ensures works are executed in accordance with contract requirements, and conform with the approved drawings and standards, project time and budget
- Supervise and check the commissioning works being performed by the contractor in respect of timescales, HSEQ and compliance with the approved drawings and standards
- Liaise and coordinate with other project team members, the Commissioning Manager, Erection Supervisors, HSE and Commercial Dept regarding commissioning works on time delivery, at costs and according to the specified quality and HSE requirements
- Liaise with counterpart in the engineering department on a regular basis weekly or more frequently as required.
- Co-ordinates sub-contractor and vendor activities on site in line with programe and project requirements. Ensuring that sub-contractors are coordinated with other site works, material and all other requirements are in place in order for them to efficiently perform required tasks.
- Complete required tests on site as required by the functional description of the plant and or equipment
- Liaise with third party authorities in relation to testing requirements of the plant or parts of.
- Records information into PIRS database and keeps records up to date
- Records and saves all quality assurance documents of commissioning activities
- Provide reports with working progress and number of personnel
- Deliver Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects
- Keeps the Commissioning Manager / Site Manager informed of all activities
- Interface with 3rd parties and external bodies as necessary
Qualifications
- Experienced Mechanical or Process Engineer with 5+ years of experience
- Experienced in commissioning of Power Waste to Energy plant, Flue Gas Treatment (FGT).
- Experienced as a leader in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management and has knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal requirements
- Experience in LOTO/ Permit to work systems
- Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite applications
- Solution oriented
- Good forward planner
- Ability to present ideas effectively
- Able to evaluate ideas of others
- Good command of English, other languages an advantage
