Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for a Year in Industry student for a 12 month paid, full-time placement, ideally taken between the second and final year of a degree (sandwich course). The successful applicant will work on real projects, applying academic knowledge to gain professional engineering experience in the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities Summary

  • The successful applicant will work on real projects, applying academic knowledge to gain professional engineering experience in the rail industry.
  • Real Project Work: Supporting ongoing projects, such as engineering design, software development, or data analysis.
  • Technical Tasks: Designing, testing, qualifying, or researching, depending on the field.
  • Collaboration: Working within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating across departments, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Deliverables: Delivering presentations and reports of activities as required.
