As the Head of Healthcare Segment, this role will play a crucial role in guiding Hitachi's strategic positioning, solution development and orchestrating go to market activity in this sector, collaborating with colleagues across different corporate functions and business units to drive this initiative through thought leadership, expertise, strategic insight and go to market mobilization. This role will leverage your deep market knowledge and go to market expertise, working in close partnership with Hitachi’s Strategic Social Innovation Business (SSIB) who are responsible for portfolio innovation. You will support SSIB by identifying and proposing market needs, and assisting them with incubating and launching new solutions and business models to this market with customer engagement and commercialization support. You will also work closely with Hitachi business units and regional growth teams to position Hitachi to priority players in this market with a cohesive value proposition, bringing together the domain experts in medical systems and products, Operational infrastructure experts and Hitachi’s digital group companies, as a full range of capabilities to help Hitachi build its reputation and become a trusted partner for AI era, sustainable healthcare, particularly in the fields of Bio pharmaceutical development and delivery, diagnostics and cancer treatment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Strategic leadership and positioning: Develop the global healthcare segment strategy, including vision, value proposition and 3Y growth plan. Define where Hitachi can credibly differentiate across identified market areas as well as building on existing footprint combining IT and OT capability. Map Hitachi’s current position vs. priority competitors; identify differentiation rooted in digital operations. In collaboration with GM&S Market Strategy and Intelligence team, translate market, regulatory, technology and customer trends into clear implications and opportunity for Hitachi. Maintain a clear view of Hitachi’s competitive position and identify capability gaps, whitespace and strategic adjacencies. Provide external thought leadership and voice of customer to position Hitachi as a partner of choice in developing next generation healthcare. Own and evolve the Hitachi for Healthcare market positioning.
  • Market, customer and ecosystem: Lead market segmentation and prioritization and define region by region plays. Collaborate with GM&S Market Intelligence function to size these market segments. Help Hitachi establish key executive relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology development leaders as well as the healthcare provider ecosystem and other identified key players within the healthcare value chain. Establish customer advisory boards to validate solution roadmaps.
  • Portfolio and solution development (OT×IT) support: Support cross Hitachi solution development, providing market intelligence and customer validation, assisting SSIB with insight, incubation and PoC projects, proposing commercialization models for successful incubations that integrate OT scale up in medtech with digital & AI applied to enhanced patient outcomes.
  • Go to market and commercial acceleration: Build the global GTM plan, including segment specific plays. Equip regional and cross-business unit growth teams with playbooks, competitive battlecards, and reference architectures; drive pipeline governance and win room rituals. Create pursuit frameworks.
  • Partnerships and alliances: Help Hitachi create a partner ecosystem spanning production technology, diagnostic and treatment systems power systems, manufacturing, software and service partners. Facilitate co-innovation roadmaps with customers and partners.
  • Leadership and ways of working: Build a matrixed, high performing virtual team across regions and business units; coach for segment excellence. Champion safety and integrity as core values; model inclusivity and cross cultural collaboration.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Healthcare domain mastery, with an emphasis on biopharma, diagnostics and cancer treatment and prevention, with a track record of influencing C-suite decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience crafting segment strategies and scaling integrated OT×IT solution portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of market drivers and customer needs and ability to identify implications for Hitachi.
  • Strong commercial acumen: multi-stakeholder complex deal shaping, partner-led sales, and outcome-based contracting.
  • Excellent executive communication; proven ability to influence across cultures and time zones.
  • Experience in leading discussion panels and presenting at industry events.
  • English fluency; Japanese proficiency is a plus.
