Are you ready to shape the future of sustainable energy?
The STEM Global Power+ Graduate Development Program is our flagship early career rotational program. It covers 13 different countries and is still growing (Brazil, Canada, China, India, Italy, Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam), so you’ll be a member of an expanding global network.
This opportunity exposes high potential graduates to different roles and experiences across various Business Units and Functions in Hitachi Energy. The program offers a unique, learning and career development experience. The program will jumpstart your career with a truly unique journey that will take you across (3) six-months long rotations (18 months in total). Focused on projects that broaden your skillset, each rotation will be within a different segment of our business, and you will choose each assignment area. You will join us as a full-time employee, and from day one in the program, you will be in the driver’s seat of your own career journey.
Our offering is perfect for you if you are looking to fast-track your leadership potential and gain a well-rounded business acumen that will enable you to step into professional life. The program will begin in September 2026. The first six-months rotation will be possible in our locations in Birmingham United Kingdom. The second or third rotation may be done abroad, depending on your chosen project and the availability of business opportunities.
Your responsibilities
- Featured Assignments: quality engineering, software engineering, consulting, sales, manufacturing operations, project engineering, project management, R&D, and many more
- Work closely with your rotational managers to achieve all business goals you are expected to deliver.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create new values.
- Work with exciting technologies in our domain space (e.g; HVDC, transformers, grid protection and control, HV circuit breakers, etc.) and the advancements which we can transfer from other sectors (examples range from plasma physics to software architecture).
- Promote the program internally and externally using your network and available tools and channels.
- Build your leadership potential through commitment to Our Leadership Pillars (inspiring engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion, and trust).
- Cultivate our Diversity 360 mindset and incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into your daily work.
Your background
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering within STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, Math) related degrees e.g. electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, industrial engineering, energy systems engineering or a related discipline.
- Permanent authorization to work in United Kingdom.
- No more than 2 years of professional experience by the start date.
- Excellent performance in English – to be able to communicate with colleagues from across the globe; additional languages are considered as an advantage.
- Strives to achieve and works to high quality standards.
- Analyses information to generate new solutions and ideas.
- Learns quickly, adapts to change.
