Senior Azure Architect - Healthcare

Are you passionate about making a difference in healthcare through technology? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Azure Architect to join our team, supporting the UK\’s NHS National Breast Screening Services (NBSS).

As a senior Architect, you will play a crucial role leading in the design and implementation of complex Azure-based solutions for the NBSS.

With exemplary customer service and communication skills, you\’ll be adept at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, end users, and third parties to understand business requirements, define architectural standards, and develop scalable and secure cloud architectures.

Your role will involve providing technical leadership, guiding teams through the entire project life-cycle, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and Azure architectural principles.

What you\’ll be doing

1. Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, considering factors such as scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.
2. Define and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for Azure cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
3. Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance to development teams on implementing Azure services and technologies effectively.
4. Design and implement highly available and resilient architectures for mission-critical applications, leveraging Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure DevOps, Azure App Service, and Azure Functions.
5. Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps pipelines to streamline deployment and management of Azure resources.

What you\’ll bring to the team

1. Extensive experience designing, architecting, and implementing enterprise-scale solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
2. In-depth understanding of Azure services and technologies across compute, networking, storage, databases, security, and governance.
3. Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
4. Experience with architecting and implementing microservices-based architectures and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
5. Familiarity with Azure security best practices, identity management, and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, and SOC 2.
6. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and automation frameworks such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps.
7. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are highly desirable.
