This is a fixed‑term opportunity offering the chance to work at the heart of Hitachi Rail’s global Digital Transformation agenda. As the Digital Transformation Portfolio Governance, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening how digital initiatives are governed, tracked and reported across the organisation. You will provide high‑quality portfolio insight and governance assurance that supports confident, data‑driven decision‑making at senior and executive level.

The role has global scope where you will be working across regions, functions and time zones.
Some key responsibilities:
- Maintain the central Digital Transformation portfolio dataset, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with governance standards
- Consolidate initiative updates including KPIs, risks, issues, dependencies, resourcing and financials into standardised reports and dashboards
- Deliver recurring and ad hoc portfolio analysis to support prioritisation, planning and executive decision‑making
- Support the preparation of steering committee materials, executive reports and portfolio review packs
- Apply governance processes, templates and quality standards across business cases, change requests and portfolio submissions
- Perform quality and completeness checks and maintain clear audit trails for governance artefacts
- Support demand intake and pipeline tracking, validating submissions and monitoring maturity and readiness
- Maintain portfolio‑level resource and capacity data and support scenario modelling activities
- Track and analyse portfolio risks, issues and dependencies, identifying themes and escalation needs
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of portfolio governance ways of working, tools and reporting standards
- Actively promote organisational values and comply with all corporate policies
About you
Essential:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex portfolio data (value, risk, capacity, progress and financials)
- Experience in a PMO, portfolio management, business analysis or digital/delivery environment
- Must have prior experience with Primavera P6
- High attention to detail with strong data management and governance discipline
- Good understanding of governance processes, project lifecycles and digital delivery
- Ability to produce clear, concise reporting and insight for senior stakeholders
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills
- Confident communicator, able to translate data into meaningful insight
- Comfortable working at pace and managing multiple priorities
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience of portfolio or project management tools
- Ability to work effectively across global teams and cultures
Desirable:
- Experience using Power BI or similar analytics and visualisation tools
- Knowledge of digital or emerging technologies (e.g. data, AI, automation)
- Exposure to resource modelling, scenario analysis or benefits tracking
- Familiarity with risk management or assurance frameworks
