Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Tender Manager in the Large Project Office for our European Hub, focused on bidding for large-scale projects such as offshore. This role is pivotal in driving our strategic initiatives and ensuring the successful acquisition of high-value contracts in the offshore sector.

Location: Remote from one of our main offices with travel required approx. 20%. (Please note we are unable to provide visa support for this position)

How you'll make an impact:

  • Take the lead and ownership for the assigned tenders.
  • Prepare and ensure on-time and complete technical and commercial tender submittal to the customer and lead the technical and commercial negotiations with customers.
  • Identify potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements.
  • Conduct risk reviews with the help of interdisciplinary supporting team consisting of engineering, project management, legal, commercial and supply chain management.
  • Collect and collate all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.
  • Identify potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically and commercially evaluate supplier offers.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.
  • Take responsibility for the integration of supplier offers risk evaluation and completeness of tender in multi-national, and multi-discipline setups.
  • Collect and archive documentation regarding the offer/order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.
  • Regularly report the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for tenders being lost and won.
  • Hand over successful sales projects to the project execution and engineering departments.
  • Perform lost proposal analysis, identify potential cause, and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Units to obtain better future results.

Learning and Development:

  • Identifying learning and development needs and plans of employees and ensuring relevant actions are taken to meet business strategy and targets.

Your Background:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven professional experience in sales and tendering in the industrial sector in a system integration and/or project environment, ideally in the power high voltage and transportation industry.
  • Proven track record in leading tenders in international large project power system business.
  • Knowledge of substations and power supply systems.
  • Proactive and result-driven professional with the ability to work with cross-functional and cross-border teams as well as to cope with a flexible-load environment.
  • Fluent in English, any other languages are beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
