We are growing our Delivery team and looking for a Senior Project Manager with experience working in the UK public sector to join us on our exciting journey and be part of the Hitachi Solutions family. The successful candidate will draw upon their project management and delivery experience to advise clients on our best practices and deliver our projects on time and to budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Accountable for the successful delivery of government projects up to £8m, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with the regional project assurance team and the relevant Programme Manager or Project Director for support.
- Responsible for project scope management and strict adherence to the published methodology and project controls as per GDS service standards.
- Oversee the overall performance of project delivery work, ensuring the quality of all deliverables and compliance with internal controls and processes.
- Accountable for effective time and expenses management in accordance with relevant policies and contractual obligations.
- Ensure accurate creation of revenue recognition estimates or Time and Materials invoices, aligned with the project schedule.
- Lead the documentation of meeting minutes for all formal meetings, capturing actions and decisions promptly.
- Ensure that work submitted by the project team meets the required Hitachi and GDS quality standards.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across multiple government departments and/or arms length bodies.
- Communicate and build an understanding of programme across client multiple departments and/or agencies.
- Manage interdependencies across workstreams or programme portfolios.
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities; able to manage multidisciplinary teams of 8-12 people, providing support, guidance, and motivation for team members.
- Demonstrable experience of working with defined project methodologies that follow GDS Best Practice.
- Structured and disciplined approach to management with a flexible mindset.
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to produce high quality and professional written documentation.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of Crown Commercial Services Frameworks.
- Conflict Resolution and Negotiation skills.
- Has successfully taken a UK Government Agency through at least 3 assessments.
- Evidence of delivering Digital Services following GDS service standards.
- Sets clear vision and direction of the programme which aligns to GD business goals and policy.
- Clear, concise communication for non-technical and senior audiences.
