Your new role

Salary - £80,000 to £90,000 DOE, plus 10% discretionary bonus. In this exciting role as Global Benefits Manager, you will be hybrid based, with some travel to London Ludgate Hill and be working as part of the global compensation & benefits team. Responsible to work at a global level on the design (including market analysis and benchmarking to support decision making) and management of Hitachi Rail’s benefits, aligned to our overall compensation & benefits strategy, and pay philosophy. Additionally, working in collaboration with the regions, developing roadmaps, and the execution and communication of our benefits strategy.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Design the global benefits program, plan management, benchmarking, and cost analysis.
  • Be the subject matter expert and develop strong working relationships to support Local HR at regional level, ensuring our benefits offering remains competitive.
  • Provide advice to the HR leadership team and local HR at regional level on standardised benefit practices and ensure compliance with global guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement/Finance and Corporate functions on global benefit contract renewals and negotiations and or changes to existing brokers and vendors.
  • Manage the brokers, vendor and third-party providers to ensure the successful service delivery for the business.
  • Lead on business initiatives by benchmarking and market analysis to support benefit programs and services.
  • Provide HR data analytics and cost estimations related to benefits programs for the compensation and benefits function.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend improvements to our benefits program to enhance the employee benefit experience and ensure we remain competitive in the market.
  • Contribute towards the optimisation of a global flexible benefits and recognition platform.

About You

  • Proven experience of designing and implementing global benefit programs.
  • Experience of collaborating effectively with people across a large, complex organisation and implemented successful benefit solutions.
  • Experience of global vendor management and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support market analysis and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Microsoft office suite, particularly excel for Compensation & Benefits reporting and data analytics.

Desirable Requirements

  • The role will require you to be a member of the global compensation & benefits team as a centre of excellence, working closely with the HR leadership, and HR at local level, therefore previous experience of working in this type of environment would be extremely desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Employee benefits certification or a related field.
