Finance Graduate Programme

We are currently looking for a Graduate level Assistant Accountant to provide assistance with all aspects of cash and banking, as well as maintenance of our ERP system – ORACLE – and supporting our financial shared service centre. You will be part of our Central Finance team and report into the Finance Control and Reporting Manager. Within this role, you will join up with the rest of our Graduates and Apprentices in a structured personal development programme as well as being offered study support to follow a pathway to either a CIMA or ACCA qualification. You will be expected to work from our London office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cash and Bank management including reconciliations
  • Concur Administration support
  • Work closely with the financial shared service centre to resolve issues arising mainly in the Purchase to Pay Process
  • Assist with VAT returns
  • Provide ORACLE ERP support
  • Day‑to‑day systems functional application support to the Shared Accounting Service (SAS)
  • Assist with ORACLE Sub‑ledger reconciliation coordination
  • MDM Update Data Masterfiles ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Cost Centre maintenance on ERP, Workday, TM1 and Mytime

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

You will be on track to or have achieved a bachelor’s degree in any subject; however, subjects that require critical analysis such as Finance or Business related subjects are of particular interest. We are looking for people who have a passion for building relationships with stakeholders and have drive, enthusiasm and the intrinsic motivation to forge ahead. You will need to show that you are commercially minded and have the interpersonal skills to work within a diverse Finance function. You will need the ability to work with and understand complex information and numerical data, with a strong attention to detail.

Please note that Graduate Development Programme activities take place during the working week but may require the investment of some personal time for travel and follow‑up activities. You may have the opportunity to travel to Hitachi Rail sites throughout the UK and beyond.
