Reporting into the HSE Manager, you’ll be the go‑to HSE presence for our Stoke Gifford depot, supporting the effective management and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental standards. This is a hands‑on, people‑facing role where you’ll have real ownership, credibility on site and the opportunity to shape how HSE is embedded day to day – not just audited from afar.
Key Responsibilities- Champion a proactive, positive HSE culture across the depot
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and procedures
- Lead on risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions
- Deliver HSE training, briefings and toolbox talks
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety tours
- Manage environmental compliance, waste, pollution control and sustainability initiatives
- Support internal audits and maintain legal and compliance registers
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers, engineers and external stakeholders
- Deputise for the HSE Manager when required
You’re an experienced and confident HSE professional who enjoys being visible, approachable and influential on site.
- Experience in HSE within an engineering, manufacturing or similar complex environment
- NEBOSH Certificate and a relevant Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and environmental permitting
- Experience as an internal auditor
- Strong communication skills and confidence to engage at all levels
- A practical, solution-focused mindset with high personal standards
- A collaborative approach and genuine passion for keeping people safe
