About the Program

This is a four‑year rotational programme designed to develop the next generation of technical experts, specialists and leaders in the UK.

  • First two years: four, six‑month placements covering the full engineering lifecycle across Hitachi Rail sites and business areas.
  • Second two years: two, one‑year placements to deepen expertise in a chosen area.

All placements are supervised by the Engineering Leadership team.

Location

Flexibility is required, but the main site will be in Cheadle, Manchester. Some rotations may require relocation to London.

Educational Requirements

Master's degree (or on track to achieve) in Software, Systems, Electronics, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, AI, Machine Learning and Cybernetics, Cyber Security (with systems engineering interest) or wider security, Mathematics, Computer or Data Science, or any applicable technical or related degree.

Graduate Development Programme activities take place during the working week but may require personal time for travel and follow‑up activities.

Closing Date
