General Engineering Apprenticeship Location: London

This exciting General Engineering Apprenticeship will develop your skills in both systems design and hardware engineering. You will rotate between the disciplines being responsible for the production of designs, design estimates, design programmes and design work packages for bids, services and projects, as well as the designing and implementation of the engineering solutions in accordance with programme and product requirements.

Degree Apprenticeship Programme
Through our degree apprenticeship, you will be getting to understand engineering from the ground up with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry. As an Engineering Apprentice, you will be studying towards a BEng in Railway Engineering at the London South Bank University. The Railway Engineering is an inter‑disciplinary course, designed to meet the increasing demand (national and international) for transport engineering professionals requiring technical skills in sustainable, integrated and intelligent rail infrastructure and rail systems. Graduates of the programme will be able to design, build, operate and manage successfully the sophisticated and complex interfaces characterising existing and new railways and infrastructure.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. A self‑starter who is able to manage their time, show initiative and has a genuine interest in engineering and Hitachi Rail. Successful candidates will show self‑discipline and an aspiration to achieve a degree qualification.
Entry Requirements
- A Level BBB including Mathematics and/or Physical Sciences (120 UCAS points) or; BTEC National Diploma DDM, including Level 3 Mathematics and Physical Sciences (128 UCAS points); EAL Technical Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies, D, including Further Engineering Mathematics; and other options relevant to Electrical, Mechanical or Civil engineering; or; Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions and 21 Merits, with at least half the course in Mathematics and Physical Science subjects (122 UCAS points); Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 120 UCAS points and including Mathematics and Physical Sciences;
- Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A‑C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
