Role Overview:
The Planner owns the development, maintenance, and control of the project schedule across E&M systems (signaling, power supply, telecom, AFC, PSD) installation and testing & commissioning. Using Primavera P6, the role ensures milestones are achievable, interfaces are coordinated, risks are visible, and executive reporting supports timely decisions.
Accountabilities:
- Baseline Development & Logic Architecture: Build a multi‑level WBS and an integrated Level 3/4 CPM schedule in P6 with appropriate calendars, constraints, and logic.
- Periodic Updates & Performance Forecasting: Consolidate subcontractors’ updates (weekly/biweekly/monthly), maintain actuals and logic, and monitor longest path, total float, and near‑critical paths; produce S‑curves, look‑ahead plans, manpower histograms, and trend charts for management review.
- Reporting: Lead the schedule segment of progress meetings; deliver concise dashboards, variance explanations, and corrective action plans.
- Delay Forensics & Claims Support: Perform time‑impact analysis against the approved baseline, quantify critical‑path impact, prepare EOT substantiation, and propose recovery/acceleration options such as fast‑tracking, resequencing, resource reallocation, and extended shifts.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Transportation, Project Management, or related fields (public works and rail experience preferred).
- Hands‑on proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6; familiarity with MS Project and advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience preparing and maintaining contract schedules on large infrastructure/rail/EPC projects; strong communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
Language and Desired Attributes:
- Fluency in Chinese and English.
- Proactive, accurate, detail‑oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
