Here at Hitachi Rail we have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Surveyor, based from our Derby depot. We’re looking for someone, ideally with rail experience, to assist with all measurement surveys undertaken by the Measurement Service team. This will include:
- Gauging surveys using a variety of industry standard systems or proprietary technology
- Laser sweep and platform gauging surveys
- Track surveys using a variety of proprietary technology
- Topographical surveys
In addition to the above, the Assistant Surveyor will also assist the Survey Manager in establishing all deliverables in the required formats to our customers alongside assisting with the storing and distribution of data. Please note, due to the nature of this role some weekend and night shift work will be required.
About You
- Hold very good knowledge of computer systems and modern survey equipment with data transmission.
- Have the ability to write method statements and risk assessments and reports, with meticulous accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ideally have a rail background or understanding of the rail environment.
- UK Driving License is essential for this role.
- ONC or HNC ideally or studying towards these qualifications.
- PTS Card ideally though training will be provided.
