Accountabilities
In this role, you will operate and maintain the wheel lathe, supporting its daily activities. This permanent position involves rotating shifts.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the work site, materials, and equipment.
- Supporting health and safety practices.
- Performing planned maintenance on the wheel lathe and related equipment.
- Carrying out wheel turning for Hitachi and third-party rolling stock.
- Conducting post-operation checks and adjustments.
- Ensuring compliance of traction and rolling stock assets with operational standards.
- Providing operational support to fleet staff if duties permit.
- Developing professionally and fostering good working relationships.
- Learning new skills aligned with Hitachi's evolving business needs.
- Liaising with Hitachi and external personnel as required.
Required Skills
- Experience with Milling, Turning, CNC, or similar processes.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations compliance.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional representation of Hitachi.
- Teamwork skills.
Education/Qualifications
- M&E ONC or apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
- Intermediate IT skills (Word, Excel).
- Experience with Milling, Turning, CNC, or similar.
- Depot driving and shunting experience.
- Wheel Lathe operations and maintenance.
