Seize this opportunity to become part of Hitachi Energy's Service team in the UK & Ireland. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating the design for projects delivered within Service (HV, Switchgear & Transformers), ensuring that designs are delivered on time, in line with customer requirements and to a high standard.
- Proactive technical and design management of projects from start to final sign off.
- Operate in line with continuous improvement and cost effectiveness throughout the duration of the project life cycle.
- Drive customer satisfaction by maintaining high quality standards in all aspects of the service delivery.
- Coâordinate and collaborate with all stakeholders effectively, including internal and external.
- Take a lead in design reviews & project meetings for the technical and design aspects of the project.
- Manage customer expectations of the overall service offering, product and portfolio.
- Collaborate with our suppliers and subâcontractors to ensure a high quality design meets requirements and address any issues as they arise to deliver a swift resolution.
- Mark up detailed design drawings and update when required.
- Provide technical support/advice across the business where required, including reviewing RAMS, Test Plans, installation plans offer documents and during installation on site.
- Conduct site surveys.
- Interpret customer requirements & specifications and apply to Hitachi Energy's design deliverables.
- Have an awareness of scope of works and the contractual agreements in place and highlight any scope changes, risks and cost optimizations.
You will have experience and expertise of leading engineering projects, preferably within the power sector and have an open and a want to 'get stuck in' mindset. The position will require travel to customer sites in the UK and Europe (to attend workshops within our feeder factories).
- Engineering related HNC/degree (electrical/mechanical desirable but not essential).
- Experience leading the design of engineering projects, preferably within transmission/distribution.
- Comprehension of English language both spoken and in writing. Both fluent and accurate - able to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
- Good capability on Microsoft office software packages and AutoCAD.
