- Establish a consistent approach to identifying, assessing, escalating and mitigating supplier risk across regions and lines of business.
- Support the development of supply chain risk governance, including the Supplier Risk Management Committee and interfaces with Enterprise Risk Management and wider Group risk organisations.
- Establish common guidelines, standards, metrics and recommendations to strengthen supplier resilience and improve risk transparency.
- Develop supplier risk intelligence and supply chain watchtower capabilities to provide greater visibility of emerging risks, opportunities and market developments.
- Build effective collaboration models with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to strengthen resilience, preparedness and continuity of supply.
- Use data, reporting and performance insight to assess supplier risk exposure, mitigation effectiveness and supply chain resilience.
- Deliver training across Procurement on supplier and event risk management processes, tools and governance.
- Leverage external benchmarking, market intelligence and industry best practice to continually strengthen Hitachi Rail’s approach to supplier risk and opportunity management.
- Help shape the future direction and oversight of Supplier Risk Management across the organisation.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced procurement professional who can operate confidently in a complex, international organisation and bring together stakeholders around a common approach to supplier risk.
You’ll ideally bring
- Strong procurement experience with knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management and supplier management tools and techniques.
- Experience leading and developing cross-functional project teams.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to turn data and risk insight into clear actions and recommendations.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across different levels and business cultures.
- Experience or understanding of Contract Lifecycle Management tools.
- Excellent communication, influencing, networking and relationship-building skills.
- A highly organised, methodical approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high degree of autonomy.
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIPS, CPSM or CPM, or equivalent professional experience.
Just as importantly, you’ll be comfortable working across different cultures and geographies, building relationships globally and navigating a complex stakeholder environment.
