At Hitachi Energy, an exciting opportunity awaits to join the Grid Automation Team as a Field Service Engineer.

This role involves contributing to the advancement of power grid technology, impacting the world of power grids positively.

The position entails traveling to various sites across the United Kingdom to engage with customers, ensuring the maintenance or surpassing of their service expectations.

As part of the role, you will be on an 'on call Rota' to deliver emergency call-out services to existing customers, fostering a dynamic environment within a supportive engineering team committed to offering innovative solutions to our valued customers.

  • How You'll Make An Impact
  • Maintain the reporting and record system for customer problems, maintenance and fixes.
  • Provide technical support to both customers and colleagues in evaluating technical requirements and answering associated technical queries.
  • Assist Sales & Tendering to impart customer and site-specific experience and knowledge.
  • Preparation of technical & test specifications, test reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies.
  • Help to maintain customer spares and customer standby systems.
  • Preparation of method statements, risk assessments for onsite work activities.
  • Ensure conformity to the Hitachi Energy Electrical safety Management System.
  • Understand the environmental risks associated with the business unit.
  • Your Background
  • Proven experience in the industry with a desire to experience nationwide site work
  • Knowledge of SCADA & RTU's.
  • Basic knowledge of power transmission and distribution protection solutions.
  • Customer focus and fluent in spoken and written English
  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
  • Working Knowledge of communication networks.
  • Working knowledge of IEC61850.
