Mission Statement
- Responsibility for cybersecurity legal aspects of the Hitachi Energy business in Europe, including monitoring, reviewing and supporting the implementation of compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies regarding cybersecurity.
- Guiding and counseling stakeholders to ensure comprehension and coordination of the necessary legal measures concerning cybersecurity matters.
- Advising and representing Hitachi Energy interests regarding legal aspects of cybersecurity matters including serving on Hitachi Energy’s incident and product vulnerability response teams as applicable.
- Collaborate with Regions, Countries and other Centers of Expertise/Global Competency Centers within the Legal & Integrity function and with Hitachi group cybersecurity functions.
- While data privacy experience is welcome, this is not a data privacy role.
In this role, You will
- Serve as legal counsel for cybersecurity matters in Europe.
- Provide strategic legal advice to meet strategic goals and to protect business reputation and interests and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Foster awareness and influence commitment to the increasing importance and impact of cybersecurity laws, regulations, policies and challenges.
- Monitor and review applicable laws, regulations and policies, with input from outside counsel as applicable and legal colleagues in the countries to provide the local perspective and legal knowledge.
- Manage ongoing changes and complexity in a dynamic and rapidly evolving area of law with multi-jurisdictional differences.
- Develop, implement and maintain pragmatic and effective cybersecurity legal strategy, standards, directives, policies, procedures and standard contract provisions suited to business needs and constraints.
- Serve on cross-functional incident and product vulnerability response teams as applicable. Prepare for and respond to real-time, dynamic and rapidly developing cybersecurity incidents and product vulnerability issues, including providing legal advice concerning impact analysis, response, and communications.
- Advise local legal colleagues and the business on drafting, reviewing and negotiating cybersecurity provisions in commercial transactions.
- Provide legal input regarding cybersecurity related audits.
- Manage outside counsel.
- Collaborate with Regions, Countries and other CoEs, GCCs within the Legal & Integrity function.
- Collaborate with the broader Hitachi group cybersecurity organizations.
- Balance complex internal requirements.
- Build consensus across legal and business functions.
- Handle specific assignments and support on various projects within the Digital & Service Legal CoE and the global legal function.
