Our Project Management team in Hitachi Energy UK is expanding. This role in the area of Grid Automation (high & Medium voltage substations Protection and control (RTU, SCADA, DCS)) is ideally suited for someone who has a proven track record in the execution of end-user facing projects in the Transmission and distribution market with customers including TSOs, EPCs, and DNOs. Skilled at planning and forecasting activities using tools such as SAP and Primavera P6 / Microsoft Projects. You will be responsible for planning and managing the project from inception through to the end of the Warranty. This will include representing Hitachi Energy's commercial, contractual interests and managing negotiations in line with FIDIC, NEC 3/NEC 4 or Orgalime forms of contract. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to travel to clients and partners within the UK (circa 10% of time) will be required.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Technical background in Electrical or control system Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of power system design, operations, and testing would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity would be an advantage.
  • Certifications in Project Management (APM, IPMA, PMI, or equivalent) would be advantageous. Support to obtain these certifications can be provided.
  • Ability to integrate into the wider Hitachi Energy team within the UK and across Europe, including participation in the Hitachi Project Management Certification Programme.
  • Continuous learning is a fundamental principle within Hitachi, and any gaps in knowledge can be addressed through training and experiences to suit.

Background

  • Experience delivering solutions in a Power Transmission project environment.
  • Engineering background, Electrical and Control systems / Computer networks.
  • Based in Scotland - willing to be either in Glasgow 3 days a week, and 2 days a month in Stone, Staffordshire.
  • HNC/HND / Degree with proven experience within Project Management working within our industry.
  • Chartered Engineer or professionally certified Project Manager.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
