Hitachi Energy has an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Consultant, Power Consulting . You\âll be responsible for developing advisory projects for major electricity sector agentsâincluding distribution, transmission, retailers, and generatorsâhelping them address regulatory, economic, and electricity challenges. You will also assist in building and retaining longâlasting relationships with internal and external customers to support profitable growth and ongoing satisfaction.
Please note this position is hybrid (2â3 days working out of our central Birmingham office). Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Work in an international collaboration environment across the Power Consulting units, using established standards, methods, and technologies to develop solutions and resolve issues.
Propose technical and engineering solutions to meet client needs and actively seek feedback for improvement.
Conduct research, market studies, qualitative and quantitative analysis, policy support, report writing, and presentation development for a range of international climate and energy projects.
Help drive project proposals, including proposed approaches, timelines, staffing plans, and budgets.

Your Background
Master\âs degree in electrical engineering, electrical power systems, sustainability or a related field, and experience in the energy sector is required.
Knowledge in power systems products, sustainability studies, costâbenefit analysis, energy economics, and documentation.
A minimum of 3 years\â relevant work experience in strategy consulting or analytics consulting.
Proficiency with C++, MATLAB, Simulink, GaBi Dfx, Homer, Python, and Microsoft Officeâespecially Excel, PowerBI, PowerApps, and VBA.
Analytic and solutionâoriented working style.
Customerâfocused and qualityâoriented.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and think systemically.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Extensive and verifiable experience in additional sectors such as electric transport, battery storage, offshore wind, hydrogen, virtual power plants, etc.
Additional language skills such as Spanish, French, or German are considered a plus.
